Understanding speech in noisy group conversations remains one of the greatest challenges for people with hearing loss. This study, conducted at Hörzentrum Oldenburg in Germany, compared the conversational performance of Signia Multi-adaptive Xperience (MaX) with the performance of Signia Integrated Xperience (IX) and two leading premium competitor hearing aids featuring DNN-based noise reduction. Thirty experienced hearing aid wearers were tested in a realistic multi-talker conversation scenario with interfering speech and background noise. Signia MaX delivered the best performance, achieving significantly lower (better) speech reception thresholds than all comparator hearing aids. The benefit was highly consistent across participants, with 97% of them showing their best speech understanding performance with Signia MaX. The results demonstrate that Signia MaX with Acoustic Intelligence™, which controls the new AI-driven RealTime Conversation Conversation EnhancementAI, provides substantial speech understanding benefits and supports more effective communication in challenging noisy social environments. The results show that the combination of multi-stream processing and system-level intelligence significantly outperforms competitor hearing aids with AI co-processors in noisy group conversations.
